A Time for Every Purpose

“A time to weep, a time to laugh” Ecclesiastes 3:4.

Jon Seaborn is running behind schedule on a Tuesday morning. He was envisioning the photo shoot of a young couple and their small child. He was starting to sweat as he knew the young woman who hired him is expecting another.
-A Time to be born-

He glanced at his watch and turned on the radio to help settle the thought of being late. The lyrics of a song catches his attention:

“C’mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Ev’rybody get together
Try and love one another right now”.

Drifting his thoughts to an earlier day, Jon had a memory of his friend Rose Lilyseed, a day she cried of another one’s actions.
– A Time to Weep –

Jon sent her a message, simple and short, a verse from the bible, John 11:35, “Jesus Wept”.
A few days later, Jon took a ride to visit  Rose. When he arrived at her house she seemed content trimming the grass of her yard wearing cut off shorts, knee high tube socks covered with tall green rubber boots. He took a look and grinned, “what a sight” he thought as she playfully pushed the mower across the yard. “Rose!” he yelled. “Rose Rose!” She yelled back “Wait there until I’m done with the lawn!”

Jon didn’t listen. He hastily marched across the lawn, passing the enormous Spanish Sword plant with other jungle like plants surrounded by 3 inch wall as a perimeter. “I need to talk to you!” He exclaims. Walks up to her and says again, “I would like to talk to you.” Rose cuts the engine of the mower, slaps her hands on her waist, looks Jon straight in the eye and before she could even take a breath, Jon takes one step back, stumbles on the 3 inch wall, begins to fall, twirls around like a “ballerina” hits his hand on the sharp thorned plant, out comes a loud, ear piercing yell “OOOUUUCH” and  lands face down on the lawn!!
— A Time to Dance –

Rose, the kind and caring woman that she is, sees Jon’s hand is bleeding and mends his wound with a family secret remedy only found in her home town.

It was the following day when Rose, Stephanie Weatherby and Missy Dollace arrive at Jon’s doorstep. He invites them in for coffee. Rose states, “You left your glasses behind when you did your ballerina dance!” Rose explains the happenings of the day before to the other girls.
— A Time to Laugh–

Rose explains the incident with much detail as she continues to laugh throughout his living room into the dining room. A comedy of errors, a satirical dance, everyone laughs,  all of which makes for fun and good friendship.
– A Time for Peace –

Jon, back in his car remembers his photo shoot thinking he will be late. A message arrives on his phone. It is from Alfredo Grotto. The message reads “If you could only love enough, you could be the most powerful person in the world” The message reminds him of a line from the movie Eat Pray Love: You don’t need a man, you need a champion. Jon replies to Alfredo, “That’s what makes a Champion, read 1 Corinthians 13:4″
— A Time to Love –

Thinking back again to the night before, Rose had re-wrapped his wounded hand,  he held her in his arms and whispered to her “Have I told you today how beautiful you are?”
– A Time to Embrace –
